James, originally from the historical city of Bath, England, began his journey in online business when he built an eCommerce website selling baby products to fund his family’s move from England to Virginia in 2005. That venture kicked off a love for marketing that would eventually lead to the opening of his own full-service marketing agency. He honed his digital marketing skills while serving as webmaster for James Madison University, and he’s always trying to learn and keep up with new digital trends. He’s all about that collaborative nature of this friendly city, and is very proud to call the Shenandoah valley his home.
Designer | Front End Developer
Ryan studied both Digital Media and Environmental Science at Eastern Mennonite University. After graduation, he worked in the government sector, focusing on conservation and wildlife in Montana and Virginia. But his passion always laid in creating, so he turned back to the digital realm. Ryan has prior experience as a digital marketing specialist, copywriter, graphic designer, photographer, and more. As a lifelong learner, Ryan’s favorite thing about the industry is that technology is so fluid and ever-evolving that it requires you to continue to learn and stay updated. After work, Ryan is probably hiking, camping, snowboarding, or playing guitar.
Danny comes to us with an extensive background in web development, and several years in the industry, in both the agency and freelancing realms. His favorite part of web development is problem-solving — he loves to treat every project as a puzzle to create the perfect solution for clients. He’s all about staying up to date on all the latest web trends, especially in design and functionality. After work you can find Danny watching films, spending time with his family, playing video games, or building PCs (but don’t worry, he’s also a fan of Macs).
Katie Carney is a mom, educator, and writer who has called Harrisonburg her home since 1993. In the last quarter century, she’s written hundreds of articles for magazines, websites, and blogs, a fair heap of instructional and training materials, dozens of blurbs about local farmers, and more academic research papers than she ever really wanted to. Katie’s favorite type of writing is storytelling, because it creates lasting friendships and a deeper connection to her community. Katie holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Strategic Communication and Advocacy, both from James Madison University. When not working, she enjoys hiking, going for a float, reading in a hammock, chatting around the fire pit, and trying new beers in new places.
